OpenAI's Codex page says the same agent runs across ChatGPT, the editor, and the terminal, and that cloud tasks can keep going when the laptop is closed.

Limitations

Usage is shared with Claude chat. Claude's pricing FAQ says web, desktop, mobile, and Claude Code draw from the same pool, with a rolling five-hour window plus weekly limits on paid plans.
