Decisions API
OpenAI API for classifying, routing, and scoring text, images, or JSON with GPT-6 Luna.
Also known as OpenAI Decisions API
What it does
The Decisions API is OpenAI's endpoint for bounded decisions, made generally available on October 22, 2026 with GPT-6 Luna. You define a question and its allowed answers, then send text, images, or native JSON. The API returns a probability that a condition is true, a choice from options you supply, or a score against a rubric. OpenAI says it is up to 10x faster than GPT-6 Luna through the Responses API. A request can include up to 400 questions. The October 22 post also names a native GPT-Live integration, prompt caching, and inference residency in the US and EU. It prices the API at $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.01 per million cached input tokens, and says there is no output-token charge.
