Also known as Recursive Flint
What it does
Flint is Recursive's open-weight coding model, announced in a post published October 21, 2026. Recursive describes a mixture-of-experts model with 40 billion total parameters and 2.5 billion active per token, built for local agentic coding. The Hugging Face model card lists 39.8 billion total parameters and about 2.5 billion active, and calls 40B-A2.5B the rounded size. The post says context windows go up to 512k tokens and recommends staying within 256k. The model card documents a context configuration of 262,144 tokens. Weights are Apache 2.0. Recursive says Flint works with llama.cpp, Ollama, Unsloth, LM Studio, vLLM, and SGLang, and that its rec engine targets M4 Pro and M5 Pro/Max.
