Top picks: if you are leaving Jules
The Jules alternatives shortlist is ordered by fit for a Jules-style workflow, not by the editorial score: https://vibestack.tools/rankings/jules-alternatives/
- Devin, best async cloud agent. That page cites Devin's intro docs: you can send a longer task to cloud Devin and come back to draft pull requests waiting for review.
- Codex, best ChatGPT cloud task. That page cites Codex Cloud docs: each task keeps working in its own workspace on GitHub repositories you connect.
- GitHub Copilot, best inside GitHub. That page cites GitHub's docs: Copilot can implement a change in a cloud environment and open one pull request.
Also on that list: Claude Code, for an issue comment (https://vibestack.tools/tools/claude-code/), OpenCode, a free MIT-licensed GitHub runner (https://vibestack.tools/tools/opencode/), and Factory Droid, a multi-model cloud option (https://vibestack.tools/tools/factory-droid/). Factory Droid is not on the coding-agents shortlist.
